Most of the world mechanics are borrowed or resolved through some combination of the pokemon games, anime or manga. If there's something from one of these three sources that you think is interesting, let either I or Webslinger9 know, and we'll see what we can do about including it! Otherwise, we're moving on with our combination of Pokemon lack of logic with unhappy reality. Bears with laser beams, folks, bears with laser beams.
There will be no strict number experience for leveling of your pokemon. Instead, we'll be keeping track of roughly where the pokemon are based on the time spent with the trainer, any (generally off screen) grinding and plot points. Remember to use more than one or two of your pokemon, otherwise only those two will be becoming stronger and learning new moves. Neglecting the others will also run the risk of having them eventually turn on you. None of this pikachu is the only one you send out but the rest love you and are completely up to snuff nonsense.
Combats will be post-based, no rolling. The only rolling is done to see what random events are summoned up while you're traipsing between towns or trying to find a specific pokemon. If the pokemon are uninteresting, and we don't need to play out you killing twenty rattata, we'll gloss over it. However, if we got an ursaring while you're level five, we might give you the chance to battle or run.
Another important note is that we will be treating pokemon moves in the same way that the anime does; once a pokemon learns a move, it never forgets it. A pokemon will not be limited to only four moves. TMs and HMs still exist, and will be very useful. A note for HMs, any pokemon that can learn Fly, Dig, or Surf can still learn that move, but depending on their size, may not be able to take their trainer along with. A pidgy simply does not the size or power to carry a human being, end of story.
We'll mostly be referencing serebii.net for canon pokemon, and items. Unique in game items or pokemon will be explored in game and then noted down here.
